Mindfulness focuses on being in the present, letting go of unnecessary worries and anxieties, so providing us with a variety of skills to manage our thoughts and emotions more constructively.
The day is divided into two sessions. In the morning we shall be investigating what Mindfulness is and practising meditations that lead to a deeper knowledge of the process and psychology of mindfulness.
In the afternoon, we shall take this a step further and consider the attributes of emotional intelligence and how practising these competencies leads to a mindful approach to life with greater self-awareness and improved relationships with others.
As well as training and guided meditations there will also be opportunities for discussion and group work.
Ondy Willson is a UK-based, internationally-acclaimed mindfulness trainer, writer and teacher of Buddhism.
Ondy has been studying mind-training techniques since the 1970s. Her commitment to good psychology is based on her own training over 37 years, from experts in the field of meditation, Buddhism and mindfulness. She was Head of Belief, Philosophy and Ethics in a large comprehensive school, contributing to primary and secondary school educational books on moral issues. She delivers Mind Training focusing on Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence and Ethics both nationally and internationally, and has much experience in both the public and private sectors.
