Cumbria Coaching Network Workshop – Mindfulness at Work
Margaret Rose Johnston is a corporate trainer in her final year of a Master’s degree in Mindfulness-based Approaches at the School of Psychology, Bangor University.
Mindfulness is a way of training the mind using meditation. It is evidence-based and has been shown to improve performance and enhance well-being in all walks of life. Companies embracing mindfulness include Apple computers, eBay, Google, IBM, Reebok, Starbucks, Toyota, Volvo and Yahoo.
In this session, Margaret will explain what mindfulness is and what it isn’t and how it works. How by doing less, we can achieve more and do this ethically. Through practical exercises and discussion we will explore how mindfulness can be used as a coaching resource to enhance well-being and performance for coaches and clients. Following the interest of the group, we can consider how mindfulness can develop skills such as psychological flexibility and resilience whilst reducing stress and rumination.
Followed by lunch and an opportunity to network with members. Non Members are welcome to attend.
